About Holly

Holly likes to describe herself as a goal-getter. She hopes to inspire others to do the same and strive for their goals, no matter what the risks are. A writing connoisseur, Holly has worked numerous corporate jobs within her industry before eventually making the decision to leave corporate America behind forever and pursue a small business. After a lot of decision-making and risk-taking, Holly started a boutique cleaning, organizing and maintenance service with her best friend. Together, they tripled their gross income in less than a year, in addition to building a wonderful team of loyal employees and servicing more than 150 clients.

Holly is a graduate of Hofstra University on Long Island. She majored in journalism and studied types of communication across all sides of the spectrum, including print, broadcast, multimedia, as well as art direction and graphic design. She graduated with her bachelor's degree in May of 2013. Her calling for journalism and writing approached her during her junior year in high school, when she began writing for Walter G. O'Connell Copiague High School's newspaper, The Voice. Throughout college, Holly wrote for a number of online and print publications, including Examiner.com, Her Campus, and Time Out New York magazine. She was also the art director for Hofstra's student-run magazine, Pulse. She uses her multifaceted background to implement successful marketing strategies for the company, as well as operate the company's social media platforms, website and blog.

Shortly after starting her business, Holly turned to paper planning to help herself get organized. She then discovered the community of decorative planning and quickly fell in love. She continues to utilize planning products to help her stay organized in a multitude of areas of her life.

In 2019, Holly decided to take her education even further and enroll in a nail specialty program at the Long Island Nail, Skin & Hair institute. She graduated with her New York State Nail Specialty Certificate and became a Swarovski Certified Nail Artist in the same week. She earned her temporary license in January 2020.

While pursuing her nail education, Holly realized her dream of sharing her journey with others who may want to take risks in the area of entrepreneurship, while also showing off her nail and planner designs. She formerly ran the blog Blogging Holly, which mainly covered her relationship and family life, but has decided to rebrand herself. She began to collaborate with several brands and plans to continue to build her network and work with other brands as time goes on.

Planning & Polish will inspire and help other boss babes pursue their entrepreneurial goals and organize their way to success through planning, while sprinkling in a dash of beauty and lifestyle.
